INDEPENDENCE DAY MESSAGE!

On this day, we commemorate what began on this day, 249 years ago. The Americans, by way of their congressional congress, had exhausted every measure to find peaceful solutions to their issues with Great Britain and the tyranny expressed by King George. This wasn't just about taxation without representation. There were a whole host of issues, stemming from the use of judicial tyranny, the dissolution of legislative bodies, requiring the citizens to be subject to the quartering of soldiers, unlawful search and seizures, and several other issues.Â

This act of courage helped create the greatest nation ever known to man. Today, we have the privilege of being citizens of this great nation. This is not a celebration of cookouts, fireworks, and time on the water. However, we recognize it through those means of celebration. Amidst your celebration, take time to recognize the foundation that was laid 249 years ago, that created our opportunity to have cookouts, shoot fireworks and spend time on the water.Â

Today, we may see actions taken by our government that we believe crosses the lines drawn by the original 27 grievances. I personally am grateful that our founders put in place a system that allows us to voice and fight these encroachments without the need to use bullets. But we know this:Â That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.
